Reflexology involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet. The theory behind Reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to the foot helps to induce relaxation and encourages healing to the corresponding area of the body.
Illness, injury or stress can create an imbalance in your body affecting vital energy flow, stopping the body functioning efficiently.

During a typical consultation your medical history will be taken, you will then be asked to remove your socks and footwear, then gently lie down on a treatment couch. Reflexology techniques are used to promote deep relaxation, which can activate your body’s own self-healing system and help achieve a natural state of balance. Reflexology can improve your circulation, sleep patterns, reduce pain, encourage relaxation, ease stress symptoms and eliminate toxins. It can also increase your vitality, restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium.

The McTimoney method is a style of Chiropractic which specialises in high velocity, low amplitude adjustments.

This means to apply a very fast, but gentle force to very specific anatomical points, which enables the chiropractor to correct misalignments within the spine (and extremities), and improve joint function.

Once corrected these adjustments aid the body in its innate ability to heal; improving mobility, relieving stress on the central and peripheral nervous system, alleviating joint restrictions and overall leading to natural whole-body health.

David is accredited with an ITEC Level 4 Sports Massage qualification training at Jackie Hamilton’s School Of Therapies. David also has accreditation in Advanced Deep Tissue Massage training with Yvonne Potter Therapies. Since qualifying David has spent time building a private client base as well as working in corporate spaces, and various holistic venues across the region.

David is passionate about fitness and has played a variety of sports throughout his life and it is this along with his professional training that has given David his comprehensive understanding of the anatomical structure of the body, the nature of sports injury and recovery, and the everyday postural issues we all live with. David has an excellent understanding of the vital role Sports Massage plays in every stage of the practice of sports and fitness activities of all types, from both pre and post event treatments, to maintenance treatments to keep your muscles in their best shape.

David says…

“I’m passionate about ways in which I can help people through my practice, whether that be recovery, injury treatment, or simply aiding in addressing the balance of maintaining a healthy mind and body”.

What David clients say- “I’ve been seeing David Collyer for massage therapy for few weeks now, and I can honestly say it’s made a significant difference to my long-standing lower back pain, which had been troubling me due to ongoing gym-related strain. David is incredibly thorough in his approach — he takes the time to understand the background of your discomfort and tailors each session to focus on the areas that need the most attention.

What sets him apart is not just his technical skill, especially with deep tissue massage, but also his genuine passion, deep knowledge, and ability to listen carefully to what your body needs. Unlike previous experiences I’ve had elsewhere, David’s sessions are not just relaxing but genuinely effective, I walk out each time feeling looser, lighter, and more mobile.

I now make it a point to go every 2–3 weeks, and it has become an essential part of my recovery and injury management routine. Booking is straightforward, and one of the biggest plus points is that he offers evening appointments after 7pm on selected days, which works perfectly with my schedule after a busy day at work.

Highly recommended for anyone serious about looking after their body — David really knows what he’s doing and brings both professionalism and care into every session”.
